IEP Coaching Advocacy and Support Services

My teaching experience in different teaching settings has taught me the necessary components for an effective Individualized Education Plan (IEP). I have also been on the other side, as a parent, and have seen procedures performed incorrectly and insufficient IEP documentation.  Unfortunately, I have seen too many students not receiving appropriate supports at school, which is why I am passionate about working with families and schools to get students what they need in the classroom to not only feel safe and ready to learn, but make meaningful progress.  Sometimes teachers do not have the training/support necessary to provide what is needed, which is why I come with an empathetic, yet firm approach because, regardless, schools should be equipping teachers with the appropriate training/support to implement IEPs with fidelity and the appropriate supports/resources. I am proud of my ability to work collaboratively with families and schools to develop meaningful, child-centered IEPs, in which a positive team relationship can be maintained.

Also, I have been on the other side of the IEP table, as a parent. I've been fortunate enough to know what to expect and what to ask for, and I know it's because of my professional experience. No one should go into an IEP meeting feeling clueless or uninformed, so that is why I'm here to help.

IEP Coaching Session Option

Current Special-  Discounted rate of $90

An IEP Coaching session is a great way to develop a relationship and determine whether or not additional IEP advocacy services are needed. It's also a more affordable option to still obtain valuable input and strategies to be the best parent advocate for your child. This session is between Diana and parent/guardian to go through a current IEP, review and understand current concerns, and provide recommendations for an upcoming IEP or amendment meeting. If there is not current IEP or assessments for review, I am happy to provide  education and guidance regarding the parts of an IEP and the IEP process,  such as what to expect prior to a meeting and what should steps should be taken during the meeting.  This session will not include the  drafting of emails for parent/guardian to communicate with the school

Unlike many special education advocates, I do NOT require a retainer at this time.  I understand the financial costs of having an advocate can be high, and I will work with you to create a payment method that works.
